Most Popular Types of Goals On

5 claims to be the world’s largest goal-setting community with over 3 million members setting goals, sharing their progress and cheering each other on.

I recently discovered the site and have found myself returning several times to check out their list of Most Popular Goals.  Unfortunately the goals are not grouped or organized very well.  For example, “Learn to Play the Guitar” is the 17th most popular goal with 13,783 people choosing it while  “Learn to Play Guitar” is the 75th most popular goal with 4,971 people choosing it.

I started playing around with the data in Excel to see what the underlying trends were.  Here are the goals grouped into categories and ranked by their popularity.
